I performed this week in LAB3 at the Image Factory Art Foundation in Belize City.  The LAB is a two-week experimental art project in the gallery curated by Kate Numi Usher, where artists create work in the space for display or performance within a 48-hour period. Water, Water Everywhere: Yemaya, The Sea & Me

Last night I dreamed of a calm, vast, turquoise sea and the biggest swimming pool I’ve ever seen, deep and sparkling. Water has been all up in my dreams and life lately, presenting itself in my conscious and subconscious spaces. I welcome this reflection of my internal process and the symbolism I’m drawing in – cleansing, renewal, deepening my intuition and connection to spirit. Filling The Well: The Space To Create

It’s been a quiet, grey day – the sky thick with clouds, periods of rain and wind whipping through the palms, and a choppy, restless sea. I’ve spent much of the day on the balcony, watching the water. We extended our stay in Caye Caulker, and I am feeling fully settled in this place. It has been wonderful to be by the sea, to swim, to relax. It has also been great to have long stretches of time spread wide open before me, with nothing to do and nowhere to go.
