There Will Be Days

trees and path

There will be days when it feels like everything is moving in slow motion, except time.

There will be days when you realize you’ve been in Belize for almost two years, and it depresses you. There will be days when it excites you.  Continue reading “There Will Be Days”

2017: Choosing Connection

bench on dangriga beach2017 has gotten off to a quiet start for me. This is intentional. After returning from New York, I’ve been spending the past week sleeping late, reading my new book (Swing Time by Zadie Smith), doing yoga asanas and meditating, with a little work sprinkled in. As much as my head tells me to launch myself into the new year and push forward with projects, my heart tells me to go slow. I’m listening to my heart. Continue reading “2017: Choosing Connection”

Onward & Upward

tree in gardenMercury turned retrograde today. I’m feeling the slowdown as I wrap things up before traveling to New York for the holidays. My focus is shifting inward now. As I’ve been reflecting on the year that 2016 has been (FIERCE), I’m allowing myself to feel all that’s coming up. It’s been an emotional ride. There have been losses and intense challenges. There have also been wonderful moments. I’m grateful for all of it. Continue reading “Onward & Upward”

Taking A Moment

It’s been hard to write in this space lately. If I’m honest, it’s been hard to write in general. I worked on a piece this week for my coaching site about moving through resistance in the creative process, something I’d been putting off doing for weeks. While I feel good about having accomplished that, the fact that it took me so long to write it speaks to how I’ve been struggling with my own resistance. Continue reading “Taking A Moment”

Wrap It Up, B: Shifting Into A New Season

All around me shifts are happening. High season is coming here in Belize, and shops and restaurants around San Ignacio are preparing for the influx of tourists. It’s also still rainy season and we’ve been getting more regular showers throughout the day. The humidity is in full effect, the nights are cooler, and the days are starting to feel shorter as darkness creeps into the evenings a little bit earlier than before. Quiet Surrender: New Moon Solar Eclipse In Virgo & Mercury Retrograde

tarot cardsI’ve been getting up in that tarot this week. First, a birthday reading to get some inspiration about where I am in my life right now at forty years old. Then, a reading this morning for the new moon solar eclipse. The cards are speaking to me. A lot of major arcana coming up, deep and soulful ones like Death and the Hanged Man. The kind of cards that give me pause about rushing ahead into making decisions, and call for reflection. Continue reading “Quiet Surrender: New Moon Solar Eclipse In Virgo & Mercury Retrograde”

40

palm tree in caye caulkerOn Wednesday I turned 40. My sister and a bunch of girlfriends came down to Belize from New York to celebrate with me for a week, and they rented a house in Caye Caulker. We played in the pool, swam in the sea, ate, drank, danced, sang songs and had an awesome time. It was fun and relaxing and silly, and just what I needed. It was exactly how I wanted to spend my birthday. Continue reading “40”

Asking & Receiving: New Moon In Leo

I’m in a reflective mood this week. It’s the start of a new month – my birthday month – and I’ll be turning 40 in a few weeks. I’m thinking a lot about what I want the theme for August to be and how I want to consciously enter this next decade of my life. There will be celebrations – my girls are coming down to Belize from the States to bring in my solar return with me. There will be revelry and shenanigans. I’m so looking forward to that.
