Last Thursday I forgot to do my daily yoga practice. That’s kind of a big deal. For one, I had been doing yoga every day for over three hundred days, so I broke my streak. I can live with that, as I’m not in competition with myself. I know that one missed day doesn’t erase all the other days I’ve done it. Still, when I realized the next morning that I’d forgotten, it bothered me. It’s still bothering me. Continue reading “Un-Anchored: On Missing A Day Of Yoga”
Tonight’s new moon in Gemini is a shift and the beginning of a new cycle. I’m getting into the energy and did a clearing ritual today. I smudged the apartment, Ro and myself with sage, refreshed my crystal altar, and used lavender essential oil and Reiki symbols to cleanse our space. I sat outside to reflect in my journal and clarify my intentions. I wrote a list of what I want to let go of, burned the list, and wrote a list of dreams and goals that I want to manifest. This moon is about release and renewal. Continue reading “The Practice: Part 3”
Yesterday marked six months of daily yoga practice. In some ways it doesn’t feel that long, in others it feels longer. Like many things in life, I suppose.
The commitment to a daily practice started with my 30-day challenge, after which I just decided to keep going. I learned so much about myself during those 30 days. It was a really powerful gesture of self-love, which has been the biggest thing that keeps me showing up every day. Continue reading “Commitment & Compassion: Lessons From 180 Days Of Yoga”

Yesterday I went to a Reiki circle sharing at Sera’s yoga studio. Even though I am a Reiki Master and have been practicing for fifteen years, I rarely get treatments for myself. It’s been a long time since someone did Reiki on me, and I found myself having a lot of thoughts and feelings about what it means to receive, particularly as a healing and helping person. In these first few days of the new year, as I’ve been
recovering from reflecting on 2015 and all that it was, I’ve been thinking a lot about my vision for 2016. Continue reading “Thoughts For 2016: Growth, Change & Presence”
This is a week full of milestone moments. Today marks 60 days of daily yoga practice, tomorrow I’m going to immigration to get my 6-month visitor’s permit stamp, and Thursday is Ro’s and my 4-year anniversary. I’m grateful for all of it. Continue reading “60 Days Of Yoga & A Week Of Milestones”
One of the greatest things about my yoga practice is that is has reconnected me with my body in a very real, visceral way. It’s also reconnected me with my Reiki practice. Continue reading “The Root: On Money, Wealth & Worth”
The past few days have been a bit of a whirlwind, very full and very busy. This has included an early morning session with a new client on Saturday, an overnight trip to Dangriga for an event with a lesbian and bisexual women’s organization, rehearsing for the upcoming show this weekend, and buying furniture for the apartment. All of these are good things. Continue reading “The Good Kind Of Busy”
